Browser sessions

Lease a remote Chromium, drive it over the Chrome DevTools Protocol, and pay per browser-hour only while it is ready.

Lease, wait, drive, release

  1. Lease. POST /sessions answers 201 with a sessionId and a cdpUrl. The cdpUrl carries the session's access token and is shown only in this answer; keep it like a password.
  2. Wait for ready. A new session is pending with attestation: null. Poll GET /sessions until the same sessionId is running with an attestation whose profileId matches what you asked for. Only that state tells you which browser and image are running.
  3. Drive. Connect with any CDP client, for example Playwright's chromium.connectOverCDP(cdpUrl).
  4. Release. DELETE /sessions/{sessionId} as soon as you are done, on every exit path. A session you forget ends at its expiry time and is billed until then.

Lifetime

ttlMinutes sets the lifetime: from 1 to 240 minutes, 30 when you leave it out. expiresAt in the answer is when the session ends at the latest; the grid removes it then.

Profiles and network policy

  • profileId chooses the browser profile: desktop-chrome-nl/v2 (the default) or native-headless-chromium/v2.
  • network: "public-web-only/v1" asks for a browser that can reach only the public internet: an in-session connector resolves every host itself, refuses private addresses and IP literals, and blocks navigation if it fails. The policy is active only when the running session also carries a networkAttestation for it.

Capacity

Sessions share one pool. When every slot is taken, POST /sessions answers 409 and nothing is charged; try again later.

What it costs

€0.07 per browser-hour, accrued per millisecond.

  • At lease, the session reserves its full lifetime: ttlMinutes × €0.07 per hour. A 30-minute lease reserves €0.035.
  • The meter starts when the session first becomes ready (its attestation is verified), not when you lease it. Start-up time is free, and a session that never becomes ready costs nothing.
  • The meter stops when you release the session, when it expires, or when we lose it. You are charged for the time in between, rounded once to the micro-euro; the rest of the reservation returns to your available credit.
